What is the Canton Fair?
The Canton Fair is an important channel for China's foreign trade sector and a demonstration of China's opening-up policy. Renowned as "China's No. 1 Fair", it plays a key role in advancing the development of China's foreign trade and economic exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
Started in 1957, the Canton Fair is now one of the biggest trade events on the international trading calendar. Organized by the China Foreign Trade Centre (CFTC) and hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the government of Guangdong Province, it is the oldest and largest trade event in the People's Republic of China.
Held twice yearly in April and October, the fair covers more than 16 broad product categories across three distinct phases, featuring both industrial and consumer products.
